Steve Molvarec earned a B.A. in History with All-College Honors fromCanisius College in 2002 and a Master of Arts in Medieval History from Notre Dame in 2005. He is currently a doctoral candidate in Medieval History. While at Canisius, he worked with inner-city community centers and neighborhood efforts. He coordinated service with Alpha Sigma Nu, the Jesuit Honor Society, and the Knights of Columbus. He also worked as a tutor with the McGowan Learning Program at Canisius, a program which provides unique educational experiences for students of color. He also spent time in the Philippines filming a documentary about poverty, Christianity, and society. Since coming to Notre Dame, particularly as an Assistant Rector, he hasimplemented programming which has allowed graduate and professional students to connect with the community through service and to find their spirituality in liturgy and prayer. He comes to the work of the Gender Relations Center with an interest in Catholic Theology and LGBTQ concerns. He is committed to promoting equality for all people at Notre Dame.
