Residence Hall
Residence hall programs address many topics which fall under the broad categories of relationships, gender and sexuality. Programs typically last 60-90 minutes, are held in the residence halls themselves, and can be tailored to fit a hall’s request to address particular issues in the residence hall community. They typically feature the GRC’s FIRE Starter peer educators in one of the following formats:
- SIT Ins (Social Issues Theatre) - Interactive Performance
- Peer educators and audience engage sensitive issues in a safe environment through live, interactive performance.
- Example: Dating, Relating and the Hookup Culture
- Grand Central Cinema – Film Series & Debate
- University faculty, staff and students utilize films and media clips from and about pop culture to stimulate conversation.
- Samples of films: Spin the Bottle: Sex, Lies and Alcohol; (500) Days of Summer; Tough Guise: Violence, Media and the Crisis of Masculinity; Sex and the City
- FIRE Forum (Finding Identity, Relationships & Equality) - Academic Panel Discussions
- University faculty, staff and students share theory and expertise, experience and practical wisdom, and engage each other in respectful dialogue.

- Resources by Topic
