Gender Relations Event Facilitators (GREF) support programs and initiatives on behalf of the GRC

The Gender Relations Event Facilitator (GREF) position is typically one academic year appointment, but may be for one semester if a student is studying abroad during the academic year. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the school year.

This volunteer position (selected through an application and interview) is typically is 1-4 hours per week, including the mandatory group meeting every other week with the Program Assistant for the GREFs to schedule facilitation opportunities. The GREF position is designed to allow students to be involved with a fairly flexible structure and a time commitment level that can adapt to their schedule and availability.

GREFs will work with a team of GREFs and in collaboration with FIRE starters, under the direction of a Program Assistant and an Assistant Director/Program Coordinator.

Expectations:

  • Represent the mission, vision and values of the GRC as a student leader
  • Function within a leadership cohort in the GRC
  • Execute the duties and responsibilities as outlined below

GREF Group Members will:

  • Support programs and initiatives on behalf of the GRC, including tabling to promote awareness, and assisting at educational and social events hosted by the GRC
  • GREFs support the overall GRC programs and initiatives.  

GRC Programs and Initiatives:

  • Each GREF will assist with two major GRC events of their choice each semester
  • Each GREF will regularly sign-up to assist with and support events hosted throughout the semester by the GRC. Tasks may include program set-up, clean-up, welcoming guests and card swiping attendees, and answering questions about the event/GRC.
  • Each GREF will assist as needed for awareness campaigns for the GRC, such as, Activities Night, Wellness Expo, Admitted Student Days, etc.
  • Each GREF will assist with the GREF Recruitment Process.

Application and Interview Process:

The GRC is currently accepting GREF applications. Incoming new students are encouraged and welcome to apply! Once an application is submitted candidates will be contacted to set up an interview. Students who are away from Notre Dame may interview via video or phone call.
