Edith Stein Project
A group of three Notre Dame students who organized a conference this year on gender issues, inspired by the life of Edith Stein. The conference discussed attacks on the dignity of women in contemporary culture through abortion, violence against women, rape, pornography and other issues, as well as how women can better understand their vocations in life. The group hopes to host further conferences in the future to encourage conversations. http://www.edithsteinproject.org/
Identity Project of Notre Dame (IDND)
A group of students currently working on a constitution of a student club at the University of Notre Dame which will continue to focus on promoting and understanding the dignity of men and women in the future. To learn more or to get involved, contact:

Student Government Gender Issues Committee
The Gender Issues Committee works to promote healthy relationships between genders by increasing opportunities for inter-gender interaction. Gender Issues also intends to raise awareness of gender related issues including eating disorders, sexual assault, men's and women's health, and associated topics. A few of the committee’s projects this year include Eating Disorders Awareness Week, Sexual Assault Awareness Week (co-sponsored with the GRC), and updating the Frosh-O Sexual Assault Program.

Alcohol and Drug Education
The Office of Alcohol and Drug Education offers a confidential student assistance program for Notre Dame’s campus. The office provides a central location where students can obtain up-to-date information about alcohol and other drugs, and affords a wide range of services, including confidential alcohol and other drug screening, referral, a walk-in information center, and educational programs and resources.
Campus Ministry
Campus Ministry coordinates an array of services and opportunities to assist students of all faith traditions in their efforts to engage in a rich and active spiritual life. Campus Ministry offers retreats, small faith-sharing communities, resources for liturgy planning, spiritual advising, catechetical programs in conjunction with the Department of Theology, opportunities to participate in a variety of choirs, and pastoral support for gay, lesbian, and bisexual students.
Center for Social Concerns
Rooted in the Gospel and Catholic social tradition, the Center for Social Concerns of the University of Notre Dame creates formative educational and service experiences in collaboration with diverse partners, calling us all to action for a more just and humane world.
Counseling Center
The University Counseling Center offers a broad range of professional services to degree-seeking undergraduate and graduate students. Services include individual and group counseling as well as outreach programs and consultation. The UCC is devoted to helping students with concerns such as interpersonal relationships, exploration of values, personal growth and well-being, stress management, self esteem and confidence, social/sexual difficulties, performance enhancement, time management, life and career planning, academic difficulties, sexual assault, anxiety, depression, alcohol/drug abuse, loss and grief, and eating disorders.
Health Services
The University Health Center provides comprehensive treatment of illness and injuries to all currently enrolled students. The Health Center is open to meet health care needs 24 hours a day when school is in session. A staff of physicians, registered nurses, and a full complement of auxiliary medical personnel provide health care through the ambulatory care clinic and inpatient unit.
Institutional Equity, Office of
The mission of the Office of Institutional Equity is to ensure that the University of Notre Dame does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin, sex, disability, veteran status, or age in the administration of any of its educational programs, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, athletic and other school-administered programs or in employment. Residence Life & Housing
The Office of Residential Life and Housing staff performs a number of tasks that influence residential life at Notre Dame. ORLH coordinates housing assignments for all on-campus students and is charged with administering the University’s disciplinary system. The staff works collaboratively with rectors in the selection, supervision, and training of hall staff; implements educational and social programming initiatives; serves as a resource to the Student Government Judicial Council president; and provides assistance to students experiencing difficulties such as harassment, family problems, sexual assault, substance abuse, and eating disorders.
Security/Police Office
Notre Dame Security/Police is a service organization whose product is safety. Employing both sworn police officers and non-sworn security officers, NDSP is a fully-authorized police agency in the state of Indiana. NDSP officers maintain a 24-hour patrol of campus every day. In addition to the patrol section, NDSP encompasses an investigation unity, a crime prevention and technical services unit, a parking-services unit, and a special-event security unit.
Student Affairs (Associate VP of Student Affairs, Ann Firth)
Notre Dame education encompasses not only the intellectual development that comes through formal classes, study and research, but also the intellectual, spiritual, moral and social growth in a student’s life outside the classroom. The Division of Student Affairs is made up of the many hall staff members who support the residential mission of the University in our 27 undergraduate residence halls and two graduate residence facilities. In addition, Student Affairs includes eleven different departments that offer a wide range of services designed to assist students in their educational experience at the University of Notre Dame. From Campus Ministry to Security, from Student Activities to the Health Center, the departments and staff of Student Affairs support the daily lives of our students.

Core Council for Gay and Lesbian Students
The Core Council for Gay and Lesbian Students (previously known as Standing Committee on Gay and Lesbian Student Needs) acts as a resource to the Vice President for Student Affairs in identifying the ongoing needs of gay, lesbian, and bi-sexual students, and assists in implementing campus-wide educational programming on gay and lesbian issues. Co-sponsor (with the GRC) Network and CommUnity (mandatory for all first year students)—programs designed to create a more welcoming environment on campus and foster respectful dialogue around issues of race, class, gender, and sexual orientation.
