The program will match upper-level students as mentors to peer undergraduates as mentees. The goal of this program is to support students early on in their Notre Dame journeys; provide support; and connect students (mentors and mentees both) with resources from around the ND community. Mentors and mentees will be contacted by the GRC once matched. The only information from applications that will be shared with each students' respective mentor/mentee are names, email addresses, and cell phone numbers. While other information may be used when matching mentors/mentees, that information will not be shared.
Mentors will make the following commitments:
-- Attending a mentor group training on Friday, January 26th, 2024 from 3-4pm in the History Makers Room (LaFortune 202). This training is mandatory. If mentors cannot make this time for an academic or otherwise equivalent reason, they must reach out to Dominic Sanfilippo (Assistant Director for LGBTQ Student Initiatives) at dsanfili@nd.edu to discuss.
Mentors and mentees will both make the following commitments:
-- Attending a group gathering of mentors and mentees on the evening of Wednesday, February 21st, 2024 at 9pm (in partnership with PrismND's Hangouts.)
-- Meeting with their mentees on a bimonthly basis (at least x2 per month), based on both individuals' schedules.
Applications will close for mentors and mentees on Friday, January 19th, 2024. Inquiries after this deadline will be considered on a case-by-case basis, and as numbers allow.
